April Sky — Process Video

April Sky develops through a layered, fluid process where movement and structure gradually come into balance.

This video captures part of that progression.

Pigment is applied, dispersed, and reworked across the surface, allowing forms to emerge through interaction rather than direct placement. Some areas are reinforced, while others are softened or partially removed, creating a constant shift between presence and dissolution.

What appears spontaneous is, over time, shaped into a more stable composition—where density, openness, and colour relationships settle into equilibrium.

The process remains central to the GeoFlora series, where each painting evolves through accumulation rather than a fixed plan.

From these same early stages, smaller works often develop into the Residual Fields series—where the image is reduced rather than expanded.

April Sky is available as an original painting.
